A single-lens reflex camera (SLR) is a camera that typically uses a mirror and prism system (hence "reflex" from the mirror's reflection) that permits the photographer to view through the lens and give the experience to see exactly what will be captured. With twin lens reflex the viewed image could be significantly different from the final image and rangefinder cameras,. When the shutter button is pressed on a mechanical SLR, the mirror flips out of the light path, allowing light to pass through to the light receptor, allowing the image to be captured. Prior to the SLR, all cameras with viewfinders had two optical light paths: one path through the lens to the film, and another path positioned above  . Most SLR cameras allow upright and laterally correct viewing through use of a roof pentaprism. While DSLR remain popular to the youth generation , still some prefer SLR for its simplicity .But since 21 st century SLR were as popular as DSLR, still used by a niche market of enthusiasts and format lovers .  Some popular SLR cameras are:
